Tireless patrons and talent scouts, one for all Lorenzo the Magnificent, who discovered Michelangelo's genius and introduced him to sculpture. Very rich bankers who put their wealth at the service of art, like Cosimo the Elder, who financed Brunelleschi's majestic masterpiece: the dome of the Florence cathedral!
With this tour we pay homage to one of the most famous princely families in Europe who, in addition to having governed the fate of the city of Florence and Tuscany, from the beginning of the fifteenth century until well into the eighteenth century, and in addition to having given birth to three popes and two queens of France, still enjoys an extraordinary fame for having promoted to an uncommon extent, and for several generations, the artistic, cultural, spiritual and scientific life of his time. Their extraordinary collections of art, precious objects, books and manuscripts, rarities and curiosities have been preserved practically intact to the present day.
The halls of the palace will envelop us in the golden cloak of the Renaissance and the famous pearl, the Chapel of the Magi, will leave us speechless.
From the place of life we will move on to the burial place of the Medici family: the Medici Chapels, with the New Sacristy, designed and conceived in its sculptural furnishings by Michelangelo. And again the Chapel of the Princes, a monumental mausoleum in Florentine mosaic of semi-precious stones, with the solemn Crypt, where the Medici Grand Dukes and their families are buried.
