Tours / Trip to San Gimignano to learn how to make lasagna, pasta or pizza

A day trip by minivan that combines culture, landscape, nature and Italian culinary tradition.

If you go as far as Florence, you certainly cannot miss San Gimignano, the village with a hundred towers, where many tower houses of medieval noble families are still intact and perfectly visible today. An iconic place, that everyone would like to visit at least once in their life and certainly taste the ice cream of the famous Dondoli ice cream shop, which won the world championship of ice cream makers.

Our tour gives us the opportunity to visit this pleasant village of rare beauty, as a digestive walk after an energetic cooking class in a majestic country house, where we will eat the food we cooked.

So what do we want to learn to cook like a Tuscan?

Lasagne, fresh pasta and tomato sauce  or the classic Italian pizza? Before choosing let's understand what they are:

BAKED LASAGNA

As early as 1282 we have written evidence in Bologna of the recipe for lasagne, rectangles of fresh egg pasta, which are seasoned in alternating layers with Bolognese sauce, bechamel, Parmesan cheese and cooked in the oven. Even today they are the Sunday food in Italian families

FRESH PASTA

Pasta is the princess of the Italian table, fresh handmade pasta is the queen. Every good Italian housewife must know how to make fresh homemade pasta well and quickly. It's so good that you just need to add a tomato sauce, which we call "pomarola", with a sprinkling of Parmesan and lunch is served!

PIZZA

It is the most famous dish in the world. The pizza was born in Naples in the mid-1500s and its name is the distortion of the Greek word "pitta" which means focaccia. The classic Margherita pizza was created for the first time in 1889 in honor of Queen Margherita of Savoy and bears the three colors of the Italian flag: white of the mozzarella, red of the tomato and green of the basil.

Choose carefully what you prefer to learn to cook, communicate it in the notes at the time of booking and our chef will have all the ingredients ready to start your adventure in the countryside.

After cooking, eating your creation, accompanied by an excellent Chianti wine, you will taste the typical cantuccini with Vin Santo, the sweet wine that the priest drinks during mass. This all in a fairytale setting: the Tuscan countryside.

Now it's time to digest with a nice walk among the towers of San Gimignano.

We wish you a happy amazing day in the Chianti countryside!
